How to Join the Competitive Swim Club

Joining our Competitive Swim Club is an exciting step in your swimmer’s journey! Please review the details below to understand our tryout process, placement guidelines, and registration requirements.

Tryouts

All potential Main Competitive Team members must complete a tryout — no exceptions.  On the day of your swimmer’s tryout, a coach will be available to introduce our program and answer general training questions.

  • Pre-Team Group: Does not require tryouts, but swimmers must know all four strokes.
  • Eligibility: To qualify for the main competitive team, swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards (one full length of a high school pool) of each stroke and kick:
    • Strokes: Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, Breaststroke
    • Kicks: Flutter kick, Dolphin kick, Breaststroke kick

If a swimmer cannot demonstrate all four strokes, swim lessons will be recommended.

How to Request a Tryout:

  • Email [email protected] to schedule.
  • Be ready in a swimsuit, towel, goggles, and a swim cap is optional.
  • Evaluations take about 15–20 minutes and include a formal assessment by one of our coaches.

Afterward, the coach will review your swimmer’s performance and discuss potential group placement.

Placement & Next Steps

  • Group Assignment: Based on tryout results, swimmers will be placed in the training group that best fits their skill level. If needed, swim lessons will be recommended.
  • After tryouts, our admin staff will send a follow up email and registration instructions for Team or Lessons.

Competitive Swimmer Requirements for Registration

Before training can begin, all competitive swimmers must:

  1. Complete Team Registration on our website: Instructions will be emailed after tryouts with which group to select.
  2. Register with USA Swimming:
    • New swimmers or transfers must create or update their USA Swimming account and must USE THIS LINK.
    • Every competitive swimmer must hold an active USA Swimming Membership (we recommend and only renew to premium memberships).

Once registration for both is complete, please email your confirmation to our admin team. We will then connect you with our New Accounts Coordinator, who will review team requirements, swim meet expectations, and answer any questions you may have.
